This is an introduction to a little side project of mine. Within this project, I am challenging the notion that because Americans vote their officials in and out of office in seemingly free and fair election, then this is a flourishing democracy. I am doing so by chronicling an array of foreign and domestic policies that are fundamentally undemocratic--or even anti-democratic. My hope is that this would contribute to the discourse of public dissent in the U.S. with the aim of restoring the core values of democracy in U.S. system of governance. This will not only benefit Americans, but also the world!
